Livestock thieves caught red-handed

Two suspects were caught slaughtering cattle on Farm Okakango in the Otjozondjupa Region over the weekend.
According to the police, the men - aged 27 and 53 - killed four cattle in a kraal and carried the meat to a secondary location, where they skinned the cattle and cut the meat into biltong.
One cow was pregnant, nearing full-term. The total value of the cattle is about N$70 000.
“All four carcasses were recovered, but the meat had gone bad and was sandy," police revealed.
The suspects were expected to appear in the Okahandja Magistrate's Court yesterday.
