Henties man killed in gang brawl

A 20-year-old man died in an alleged gang brawl in the early hours of Saturday. According to police, the murder occurred in Henties Bay. It is alleged that the 24-year-old suspect, who has been arrested, stabbed the deceased with a broken bottle.

Before the murder, a gang fight reportedly broke out, but then came to an end. “It is further alleged that the suspect and his friends walked away, but the deceased and his friends followed them and caught up with them. The deceased hit the suspect with an empty bottle, after which the suspect retaliated and stabbed the deceased once in the neck with the broken bottle." The victim was taken to the local clinic, but was pronounced dead on arrival. His next of kin have been informed, and police investigations continue.
