Guard shot and killed on duty

A security guard was fatally shot on Saturday during a robbery and housebreaking incident at the Brazzaville Bar in Iipanya location, Okalunga village, Oshigambo.
The incident occurred at around 03:00, according to the police in Oshikoto.
It is reported that four armed suspects entered the bar and opened fire. Oshikoto community affairs officer Inspector Ellen Nehale said that during the shooting, a 29-year-old security guard on duty was shot and killed with a pistol. The victim's identity has not been disclosed, as his next of kin are yet to be informed about the tragic incident.
Nehale said the men gained entry to the bar and demanded that one of the bartenders on duty open the safe.
"They stole approximately N$13 000 in cash," she said.
The suspects all managed to flee the scene, using a getaway vehicle. Their identities are unknown at this stage, and no arrests have been made.
