Eight boys arrested over alleged sexual assault

Eight teenage suspects, all male, aged between 13 and 18, have been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a girl (14) at Kayira-yira village in the Kavango West region.
According to regional commander Commissioner Julia Sakuwa-Neo, the alleged incident took place on 27 September, when the suspects reportedly engaged in sexual activity with the minor.
All eight suspects were taken into police custody following the report of the incident. Furthermore, Sakuwa-Neo indicated that some of the suspects, being minors, will be released into the care of their parents, while the remaining will continue to be held in custody. The survivor was transported to a medical facility for examination and support services.
