Drunk driver kills child (5), injures two others

A tragic accident in Otavi has left one child dead and two others seriously injured after an alleged drunk driver, who is unlicensed, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a yard.
Police say the accident occurred on Saturday afternoon, when the man, driving a black VW Polo, lost control, veered off the road, and struck three children – aged 3, 5, and 6 – who were playing in the yard.
The children were rushed to Otavi State Clinic, but the five-year-old girl died while being transported to Otjiwarongo State Hospital due to the severity of her injuries.
The suspect has been arrested and faces multiple charges, including culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving, and driving without a valid licence.
