Cigarette consignment intercepted in Kavango West

At around 01:00 yesterday morning, police in Kavango West intercepted two boxes containing 10 000 Yes cigarette packets totalling 10 000 cigarettes and one box containing 4 400 Forum cigarettes at the Namasira road checkpoint.
The items, originally from Angola, were allegedly being transported to Tsumeb by a 32-year-old Namibian man from Okongo, who had no legal permits or documentation for the consignment. According to Kavango West police, the cigarettes, which hail from Angola, were confiscated and handed to the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) for further investigations.
