POSTPONED: Elias Shityeni Haifete, also known as “Small Boy”, 33, will return to the Katutura Magistrate’s Court in February next year to enter his plea in connection with the murder of local business owner Fiina Nghifikwa. Haifete, who appeared in court last Friday, was arrested about a year ago in connection with a string of alleged armed robberies and murders in Windhoek. He was identified as the primary suspect in the murder of Nghifikwa, who was shot dead on 22 July 2025.

Nghifikwa, the owner of the fashion business September Creations, was killed at around 19:00 on Kigali Street after she and a friend were allegedly lured to the area under the pretext of viewing a room for rent. The two women were reportedly picked up by a man who had offered to drive them to the property. Once inside the vehicle, the suspects allegedly held them at gunpoint and robbed them of their mobile phones.

During the ordeal, Nghifikwa was shot. She was rushed to the Katutura Health Centre, formerly known as the Black Chain Clinic, but was declared dead upon arrival.

It is alleged that the shooting took place in the presence of Nghifikwa’s five-year-old child.
