Boy (10) arrested after stabbing death of 15-year-old teen

A 15-year-old teenager died during a domestic altercation in Otjomuise this weekend, allegedly involving younger relatives, police said in a report on Sunday.

The incident allegedly escalated during a dispute between siblings, with a 10-year-old now arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing.

Police also reported that a 29-year-old man was arrested in Henties Bay over the weekend after allegedly breaking into a woman’s home and sexually assaulting her.

In Narraville, Walvis Bay, police are investigating the discovery of a stillborn baby found abandoned in a yard. The body was discovered inside a plastic bag.

Another case in Katutura’s Wanaheda area involved the death of a toddler after reportedly sustaining injuries during an incident involving his father. The father has been arrested.

Authorities are also probing a fraud case in Rehoboth, where a woman lost more than N$15 000 after being misled by a caller claiming she had won a lottery prize.

A 39-year-old man has died following a car crash near Stampriet after his vehicle reportedly veered off the road and struck a tree on Friday morning.

The driver, identified as Wolf-Diether Kuhn, allegedly lost control of his bakkie after a suspected tyre burst. He was travelling with five passengers, all of whom sustained serious injuries and were transported to Mariental State Hospital.

Police also reported a stock theft in the Seeis policing area, where five cattle were slaughtered at a farm, with losses estimated at N$48 000. Investigators tracked footprints from a kraal to a suspected slaughter site, where cattle heads and an injured bull were discovered. Further evidence, including blood-stained weapons, was recovered near the B6 road. Police investigations are ongoing.

In a related incident, police intercepted a vehicle and arrested a 32-year-old man found in possession of game meat believed to be from four oryx. Other suspects fled the scene.

In Rehoboth, a 27-year-old man was arrested after allegedly stabbing another man multiple times outside a retail outlet. The victim sustained serious injuries, and the suspect is expected to appear in court.
