Attempted armed robbery in Windhoek ends with suspect shot dead

An attempted armed robbery in Windhoek’s Cimbebasia area on Saturday morning ended with one of the suspects shot by their intended victim.
Namibian Police spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi on Sunday said the incident occurred around 07:00, when a couple walking their dogs in the veld were approached by three armed, unknown men attempting to rob them.
“One of the victims drew his licensed firearm and fired shots during the confrontation. One of the suspects was struck and died on the scene, while the other suspects fled,” Shikwambi said.
She added that the deceased suspect’s next of kin has been informed.
