Proverbs 31 as a professional woman - Part 44

SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY
Yolanda Kalenga
Dear loyal readers, I trust that you’re blessed and highly favoured.

The magnificent weight of God’s glory is not only revealed when we’re serving Him in the various capacities that He entrusted us to advance His kingdom; His glory is also revealed when we take time to rest, reflect, reset, realign, reboot, redefine, reassess, rejuvenate, relax or do whatever refreshes or restores your soul – in alignment with His will for you.

One element that is often missing in our professional journey is the demonstration of our commitment to creating opportunities to find rest. Even in the midst of various professional and personal demands, challenges and opportunities, we need to be mindful of our human limitations, and that’s why I often take periodic moments of rest in writing this weekly column.

Even in the commitment to spreading the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ in this column, one needs to honour oneself so that one can serve in God’s various assignments with honour and excellence, both personally and professionally.

My three-week silence after part 43 was a moment for me to RE- whatever I needed to do to set my soul on fire – in alignment with God’s will for my life.

Humbled to be entrusted with the magnificent weight of God’s glory for this column, it is not one that can be taken lightly; hence, the need to steward it with grace and alignment with His will, especially when it comes to the need to pause and get some rest.

Life has taught me that if you don’t rest by choice, you will be forced to rest by circumstance.

Hoping that you’re encouraged by the above, allow me to express my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for your continued support for this column, keeping the Word alive, and sharing your insights, comments, queries, concerns and questions that keep the column alive beyond its weekly Wednesday publication.

In humble submission, we praise our Heavenly Father for His love, faithfulness, continued revelation and guidance as this column continues to touch and transform different lives.

To my sisters who read this column, thank you for joining me on this journey and for sharing how it has impacted some boardrooms and transformed some of your executive-level thinking to the point of involving God in every aspect, not just the big stuff that needs a God-level power to solve. Your support is encouraging, well received and appreciated.

To the men who read this column, thank you for the good cheer and engagements on the various topics that we have discussed thus far.

It’s refreshing to know that the principles are largely universal and applicable to men also, despite the heading that refers to the Proverbs 31 woman. Your support is encouraging, well received and appreciated.

Finally, to the Namibian Sun newspaper, thank you for creating space for advancing the Kingdom of God through your continued support for this column. It is truly by God’s grace that all of this is made possible.

In the next article, we will continue our journey as we unpack success principle ten for Proverbs 31 as a professional woman: “She’s strong, courageous and discerning”. Please read parts 36 to 43 for more context.

Shalom.
