Entries invited for National Chess Championship qualifiers

The Namibia Chess Federation (NCF) is pleased to invite all eligible Namibian players to participate in the 2026 Namibia National Chess Championship Qualifier, a FIDE-rated tournament. The registration deadline is today (5 January) at 14:00, for the qualifiers to be held at the Nictus Cultural Centre in Windhoek from 7 to 11 January. Competitors can enter into either the Open Section, or the Women’s Section. The top five players in each section will qualify for the National Closed Championship, scheduled for 24 February to 1 March. The tournament format will be a 9-round Swiss System, with time control of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds increment. In terms of eligibility, the tournament is open to Namibian citizens only (proof of citizenship required). Players from all regions of the country are encouraged to participate.
