Christmas alcohol sales not for all
News in short
After recent media reports that liquor outlets will be allowed to sell alcohol on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, the Namibian Police yesterday announced that anyone found selling alcohol outside the stipulations of their liquor licence will face the full wrath of the law.
Only certain licences allow for the sale of alcohol on public holidays, they explained.
Police also warned that anyone selling alcohol to children under the age of 18 will be dealt with.
“This action will constitute a heavy penalty and such outlet owner may lose their licence if found guilty of such an offence,” spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi said in a statement.
