"This development is truly one for the books, representing a significant investment of millions of dollars into our community and is therefore welcomed by all,” Ndjaleka said on Friday. She emphasised that the benefits of the Buchter Village Mall resonate far beyond the cash register. “This investment directly addresses the increasing demand for high-quality retail spaces, ensuring local money stays in Lüderitz and contributes to our town 's overall economic vitality. The construction process creates immediate temporary employment. More sustainably, the tenants will provide lasting, formal jobs, empowering our residents and their families,” Ndjaleka said. Major commercial hubShe highlighted that the development was more than just a mall. “It is a major commercial hub and our answer to meet the emerging demands brought along by the discovery of substantial offshore oil reserves.
