During the 27th Annual Convention and International Infrastructure Conference 2026 on 29 September 2026 at the Sheraton Addis Hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers and the Engineering Professions Association of Namibia. At the conference themed “Building Africa 2050: Engineering resilient, sustainable, and smart infrastructure,” professional engineer Sophia Belete-Tekie, president of the Engineering Professions Association of Namibia, and engineer Amanuel Mekonnen Hailemariam, president of the Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers signed the agreement to strengthen African-to-African engineering cooperation. The partnership establishes a practical platform for sustained cooperation and creates direct opportunities to exchange knowledge, technologies, professional expertise and proven practices.
