BOOSTING STAFF MORALE THROUGH RECOGNITION
BOOSTING STAFF MORALE THROUGH RECOGNITION: Last week, Nedbank Namibia honoured its long-serving employees at the bank’s biannual long service award ceremony. Long service recognition is crucial for several reasons. It helps to show appreciation and gratitude towards employees for their dedication, which in turn makes them feel valued and satisfied within their roles.
A total of 58 Nedbank employees received certificates of long service and prizes for their loyalty and continued service to the bank. The service categories included a newly introduced three-year category, as well as five, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of service. "Recognition is a key element of employee engagement. It is more than just a pat on the back; it's a powerful tool that fosters a positive work environment, boosts morale and enhances productivity," the bank's Bianca Muller said.
"When we acknowledge our team members, even for their loyalty, we not only validate their efforts but also inspire them to continue striving for excellence. Recognition helps build a sense of belonging and loyalty, which is essential for retaining top talent and maintaining a motivated workforce."
