Zimbabwean motivational speaker and musician Joshua Maponga will arrive in Namibia on 1 June to unify the ‘One Africa’ narrative through a one-night event hosted at the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN).

Passionate about community development, he will embark on a SADC tour which starts in Namibia and will continue in Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

"I am looking forward to sharing the stage with well-renowned talent and embracing our own stories which we can be proud of.

“I simply want to spark the mind and remind us as Africans of who we are, where we come from, and set to light the endless opportunities we have," he said.

Themed ‘celebrating culture and rich history through music and storytelling', the event coincides with a book launch that will be held at Exclusive Books at the Grove Mall of Namibia.

Proud

Maponga is working alongside Poiyah Media as the media custodian in charge of hosting the SADC tour as well as an international trip to Germany later this year.

Founder of Poiyah Media, Ilke Platt said she is honoured to work with a brand that has gained so much public attention over the years.

"Stakeholder engagement was very critical for our client and we have scheduled various engagements with our kings in the north to join a Pan African narrative to include all in this very important discussion," she said.

Platt further shared that they are proud that the tour will start in Namibia and they intend to explore various parts of the country.

The NTN is the main venue sponsor and corporates are encouraged to be part of an important dialogue that "affects the communities in which they operate".

The audience will be able to engage at the event through a Q&A session.
