In its continued support of the development of the arts in Namibia, Bank Windhoek will host the second edition of the Bank Windhoek Choral Celebration over two days, Friday, 6 June, and Saturday, 7 June 2025, at the Windhoek High School Hall.

The 2025 edition of the Bank Windhoek Choral Celebration will host an exciting and inclusive programme that brings together Namibian choral talent. With a capacity-building theme, the festival will include workshops and choir clinics and end with a showcase featuring, Healing Vocals, Windhoek Gymnasium School Choir and Namib Camerata Choir.

A highlight of the 2025 Choral Celebration will be the invitation of the highly renowned South African conductor, Renette Bouwer, former conductor of the award-winning University of Johannesburg Choir. Bouwer will facilitate a choral workshop for conductors and choir clinics with participating choirs, offering invaluable guidance on technique, interpretation, and performance. Choral conductors are invited to attend this workshop, scheduled to take place on Friday, 6 June 2025 by emailing [email protected], for more information. There is limited space for 100 attendees, and registrations close on Tuesday, 3 June 2025.

The second day will have two activities. Firstly, the gathering will start the day with the closed choral workshop. The three selected choirs will have one-on-one sessions with Bouwer, where she will assist them in improving their sound and technique in preparation for the evening concert. She will apply the same method that will be taught in the workshop. The second activity on day two will be the “Bank Windhoek Choral Celebration Concert" in the Windhoek High School Main Hall. The show will start at 18:00. Tickets are available at Webtickets for N$50 for adults and children.

Bank Windhoek’s Head of Stakeholder Engagement, Corporate Social Responsibility and Sponsorships, Bronwyn Moody, said that the Choral Celebration underscores the Bank’s unwavering commitment to supporting the arts industry, further cementing its role as a dedicated patron of creativity and cultural expression in Namibia. She added that the Bank has a long-standing tradition of supporting the arts in Namibia. “Through various initiatives, sponsorships, and partnerships, the Bank has consistently championed the development of Namibian visual and performing arts. This is an example of our ongoing commitment to nurturing artistic talent and enriching the lives of Namibians through initiatives such as these, enabling collaborations,” said Moody.

The Bank Windhoek Choral Celebration is an annual event on the Bank’s sponsorship calendar. Different choirs are invited to showcase their talent, and community spirit is cultivated through choral music.
