United PayPoint and Strictly Local Namibia officially launched the Strictly Local Namibia Music and Entertainment Live Show on 25 March at Thuringerhof Hotel in Windhoek.

The platform is described as one of the first of its kind, focused on restoring live performance culture while building a sustainable ecosystem for Namibia’s creative industry.

The first live show is scheduled for today, 27 March, at Thuringerhof Hotel.

It will be headlined by Sally Ephraim Keya, aka Sally Boss Madam, alongside a full band.

Speaking at the launch, PayPoint spokesperson Che Ulenga explained the initiative will present a monthly live show designed to celebrate and promote Namibian music and entertainers.

"Each month, Strictly Local Namibia will feature an Entertainer of the Month, whose brand, entertainment catalogue and story will be amplified across radio and television platforms."

Much-needed platform

During the launch, Sally Boss Madam expressed her excitement at headlining the inaugural Strictly Local Namibia Music and Entertainment evening, saying she is grateful to be among the first artists to take the stage.

“I hope I put on the right piece. I know that it's just not me, and there are going to be other artists after me. So it's a thing that will just move into our industry the right way. Because I think there is so much talent out there. And a lot of times we don't have the right platforms,” she said.

Energy FM spokesperson Elsabe Tibinyana spoke at the launch of the Strictly Local Namibia Music and Entertainment Live Show, in which the station is a partner.

"As a proud media partner of this initiative, we at Energy FM are excited to be part of a movement that not only showcases incredible talent within our borders but also aligns with our commitment to empowering the youth of Namibia," she stated.

”Our involvement in Strictly Local Namibia is a natural extension of our dedication to promoting local talent, and it is one of our core social content pillars."

She added that the "initiative provides a unique opportunity for artists to gain exposure, connect with audiences and collaborate with one another”.
