The Miss World Namibia 2026 crowning ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday in Windhoek at the Marigold Hotel.

The event will feature a short, formal programme, including official remarks and the crown handover from reigning Miss World Namibia, Selma Kamanya, to Miss NGO Namibia.

Roberto Andreas, national director of Miss World Namibia, said this year’s ceremony would not include a competitive segment, focusing solely on the crown handover due to time constraints and to align with international Miss World requirements.

According to Andreas, special guests are set to attend the event, including deputy education and culture minister Dino Ballotti. and the former governor of the Ohangwena region, Usko Nghaamwa.

As the event will feature a short formal programme, Andreas said guests are encouraged to dress elegantly in smart, official attire.

Life-changing reign

Miss World Namibia 2025, Selma Kamanya, said the most rewarding part of her experience as titleholder “was realising the depth of responsibility that comes with representation.”

She added that the crown demanded integrity, consistency and purpose.

“Standing in rooms where decisions are made, whether with community leaders, youth or private-sector stakeholders, taught me that leadership is not about visibility but about service,” she said.

Kamanya said the experience reshaped her understanding of advocacy and taught her that sustainable impact requires planning and implementation, not just talk.

“True leadership means listening deeply, collaborating across sectors and showing up even when the spotlight is gone. It affirmed for me that a national title is not an end point but a platform to catalyse long-term change."

Andreas further told the media that there will be no special performances during the event: "No entertainment or performances are scheduled for the evening.”

Anyone wishing to attend the event is welcome to do so but should contact the number provided on the official invitation, as a limited number of tickets are available.
