Page Ethnix drops eight track EP
A perfectly timed musical offering with a blend of genres and standout features
Dropping just as Namibia gears up for keDezemba, the timing is perfect. Announcing the release on social media, Page shared: “This was an amazing project to work on. Enjoy it because it is from the bottom of our hearts.”
The EP, mixed and mastered by Andrew on the Beat and Mr Glo Solani, is available on YouTube.
As expected from Page, Vibration is packed with witty, catchy lyrics layered over a variety of beautifully crafted beats. The opening track, also titled Vibration, eases in with a mellow afrobeat sound. It’s a heartfelt message of loyalty and commitment to a love interest, perfect for those who enjoy the bittersweet blend of sweet promises and romantic vulnerability.
The EP also explores deeper themes. Ondjira, featuring Big Ben and the Vocal Redemption Choir, is a motivational track with a gospel tone. It opens with the line, “One time for the guy that is going through the most but believing in God,” paying tribute to resilience and faith. Big Ben adds emotional depth with a verse delivered mainly in Otjiherero, while Page includes lines in Oshiwambo, creating a beautiful trilingual fusion. The Vocal Redemption Choir enhances the song with powerful harmonies, while the amapiano-based beat keeps it grounded in a modern, soulful sound.
Money, the third track, is playful and nostalgic. Sampling South African disco legend Paul Ndlovu’s Tsakane, it blends old-school vibes with modern afro-fusion, creating a fun, feel-good experience. With clever lyrics and a lively beat full of kicks and snares, this track has the makings of a club hit. Champions League DJz shine with a playful mix that brings a familiar continental flair.
Alhamdulila is a catchy, fast-paced song with high energy and vibrant afrobeat sounds.
On Mbekusuvera, Page teams up with his Ethnix duo partner Etjo. The track leans more towards hip-hop, with Page delivering fast-paced verses alongside Etjo’s smooth vocals. The result is a duet exploring a love that’s stubborn yet tender. The R&B-inspired beat gives it a romantic, Sunday-afternoon feel.
Wange, featuring Faith the Vocalist, is an upbeat anthem of cultural pride and feminine energy. With kwasa-kwasa inspired instrumentals and Faith’s powerful verse in Shona, the track stretches beyond borders. Her performance pays homage to her parents, while Page adds humour and clever wordplay, making it a potential continental favourite.
Shiponga delivers a laid-back amapiano vibe ideal for summer drives. With a relaxed flow and playful audio inserts, Page celebrates women with lines that remind listeners, “You’ve got the sauce.” It's the kind of song that begs to be played with windows down and volume up.
The final track sees Page reunite with DJ Vuyo, a fan-favourite pairing. Here, Page expresses gratitude to his fans and support system, promising that his musical journey is far from over. It's a warm, sincere dedication that closes the EP on a high note.
