In a dynamic celebration of Namibia's digital talent, MultiChoice Namibia, in partnership with the Content Creators Awards, launched a new website, namcca.com, on Tuesday, 2 July, and announced that DStv Namibia is the flagship sponsor of the Namibia Content Creator Awards 2024.

The eagerly anticipated event invites the public to nominate their favourite content creators for a chance to win prestigious prizes at a ceremony set for later this year.

Speaking at the launch, Elzita Beukes, corporate affairs manager at MultiChoice Namibia, said the world has evolved into a digital age where content has become more than just information.

“It’s a tool that has been crucial to connecting people around the world,” Beukes said.

Emphasising the synergy between content creators and DStv, she added: “DStv is a home of entertainment that is deeply rooted in Namibia and brings people together through our valuable products and services. Therefore, we’d like to encourage the public to put a spotlight on the conversation starters, authentic storytellers and overall impact makers by nominating them on the DStv Content Creator Awards platform.”

Celebrate creators

The newly unveiled website boasts a sleek, user-friendly design, streamlining the nomination process and providing detailed information on various award categories. These include Content Creator of the Year, Fashion & Lifestyle Award, Foodie Award, Influencer Award, Traditional/Cultural, Content Creating Corporation, and more.

Zulu Boy of the Namibia Content Creators’ team highlighted the significance of the awards.

“For many years, we have been creating content, and now is our chance to be celebrated. With these awards, we want to inspire creatives to share their stories, encourage creativity and innovation and recognise Namibian content on a national level.”

Nominations are open until Wednesday, 31 July, with only four content creators being shortlisted in each category. The public will then vote for their favourites, with nominees to be announced at an event in August. Leading up to the official awards ceremony in November, several content creator workshops are planned. For more information and terms and conditions, visit namcca.com.
