Nascam announces interim board to drive constitutional reform
In a press briefing held in Windhoek on Friday, the Namibia Society of Composers and Authors of Music (Nascam) shared outcomes from its special AGM held on 2 August. A six-member interim board has been elected to serve a 12-month term, tasked with spearheading key constitutional reforms. The newly appointed board is chaired by Joseph ‘Jossy Joss’ Ailonga, with Shinana Nghixulifwa serving as vice chairperson. Other members include Morocky Mbwaluh (popularly known as King Tee Dee), Berthold Mbinda, Desmond Katamila, Gertrude Arlene Brandt and Steven Naruseb.
The board will oversee amendments to Nascam’s constitution, to be tabled on 21 February 2026, and will facilitate elections for a new board under the revised framework on 25 April 2026.
