Musicians mourn Muhuure

Last Friday, the Namibian music industry was left reeling after learning of award-winning producer Araffath Muhuure's death.

The news was shared widely on social media, with many artists expressing their condolences and sharing their memories of him.

King Tee Dee shared that it is with a heavy heart that the industry mourns the loss of Muhuure.

“Despite the fact that we had hoped for more time with him, we recognise that God's timing is not always aligned with our own.

“Araffath was a true visionary and a talented individual, capable of creating countless stars and inspiring those around him. His touch was different, and he left an indelible mark on the world."

'A true brother'

Rapper KP Illest narrated his last encounter with the producer, saying on Thursday night, they were discussing trivial matters in the studio as they finished a project.

“The following morning, I was planning to inform you of its approval. It is saddening to lose a close friend in this industry, but you were one of the few. You were a true brother, a sincere person, my toughest critic and a dependable confidant. It is regrettable that you had more to give, but as they say, divine timing is different from ours. This loss is painful."

'Utterly devastated'

Gospel singer Maranatha said shewas at a loss for words after hearing the news.

“Witnessing the transportation of your lifeless body on Friday has left me utterly devastated. My attempts to reach out to you via phone, hoping to hear your voice, were met with the heartbreaking news that you had taken your last breath.

“I hurried to your residence in the hope that it was not true, only to be confronted with the sight of your motionless form. I am still in a state of shock, struggling to come to terms with the situation.

"As I look through our photographs and videos, I yearn for the opportunity to communicate with you once more. I remain unable to comprehend the reality of the situation. May the peace of God be upon you."

Many other musicians shared similar sentiments, with some describing Muhuure as a mentor and others expressing their admiration for his talent.
