Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) cemented its standing as a powerhouse in the African telecommunications industry after winning the Grand Prix Most Admired African Brand – Telecommunications at the 2025 Brand Africa Awards. The prestigious ceremony was held Monday morning at the Hilton Hotel in Windhoek.

Now in its 15th year, the Brand Africa Awards recognise brands that are shaping the continent through excellence in leadership, social responsibility, and market presence. MTC emerged as the biggest winner of the day, walking away with five major accolades that underscore its influence both locally and across the continent.

In addition to its Grand Prix title, MTC was named the Most Admired Namibian Brand, Most Admired African Brand (Aided Recall), Most Admired Namibian Brand Doing Good for Society and the Environment, and Most Admired Namibian Brand Contributing to a Better Africa. It also secured the title of Most Admired Telecommunications Brand in Namibia.

“These awards are a testament to the passion, resilience, and innovation that define MTC,” said Tim Ekandjo, the company’s Chief Brand, Marketing, Communication, and Sustainability Officer. “We are deeply honoured to be recognized by Brand Africa. This achievement reflects the trust our customers place in us and the dedication of our teams who work tirelessly to connect communities, bridge digital divides, and power Africa’s digital future.”

The Brand Africa 100 – Namibia’s Best Brands 2025 rankings spotlighted the nation’s most admired companies across generational divides—from Gen Z to Baby Boomers—as well as brands that have endured over half a century. This year’s edition also recognised key individuals driving Namibia’s brand innovation.

Among other notable winners were Top Score, Bank Windhoek, MultiChoice Namibia, and Bonlife—each acknowledged for their contributions to the country’s brand ecosystem.
