Khorixas is set to come alive with the rhythm of Ma|gaisa as the inaugural Ma|gaisa Festival Volume 1 takes center stage at Herbert Conradie Stadium from 4-6 April.

The event, spearheaded by THC, owned by Watson Ndara, and Ce Infinity Trading CC, owned by Elizabeth Gomaxas, aims to establish itself as an annual celebration of music and culture.

With the festival’s name carrying "Volume 1," the organizers envision it as a long-term initiative to provide a dedicated platform for Ma|gaisa artists and enthusiasts. According to Gomaxas, the event seeks to showcase the genre’s evolution while fostering a strong sense of community among music lovers.

“The festival is about more than just entertainment—it’s about bringing people together and celebrating the richness of Ma|gaisa music,” she said. “We want to create a space where artists can showcase their creativity and where audiences can connect with both familiar and emerging sounds.”

The festival's music lineup features a powerhouse roster of acclaimed Ma|gaisa artists, including Jaliza, Ou Stakes, Brumelda, Ice Star, Lettie, Kalux, Kalo on The Beat, Kaptein Tswazi, Marvrown, Redley & Lebron, and Ou Pule.

Beyond the music, attendees can look forward to an exciting lineup of activities, including a mini soccer tournament, a dedicated kiddies’ corner, and live entertainment by Oc Ebs. Food and refreshments will be available throughout the event, with festivalgoers encouraged to bring an empty cooler box and a camping chair for comfort.

Looking ahead, the organizers hope the festival will become a cultural highlight that not only elevates Ma|gaisa but also contributes to the local economy. By attracting visitors to Khorixas, the event aims to support emerging artists, boost tourism, and create a space for music lovers to celebrate their passion.

“Our long-term goal is to foster a greater appreciation for Ma|gaisa while ensuring that this festival becomes a staple event that grows year after year,” Gomaxas added. “We believe it has the potential to inspire creativity, strengthen community bonds, and solidify Khorixas as a cultural hub.”

With its debut edition set to make waves, Ma|gaisa Festival Volume 1 promises an unforgettable experience for fans of the genre, paving the way for an enduring tradition of music and unity.

Tickets are available via Web tickets or at any Pick N Pay outlets.
