Laughter, magic and local wit take centre stage at Nico’s Pub

STAFF REPORTER
In what promises to be an evening of pure comedic chaos and mind-bending magic, Nico’s Pub & Grill is gearing up to host ‘It Is What It Is,’ a one-night variety show blending stand-up, illusions and sharp local humour.

The event, taking place on Thursday, 7 August, is presented in collaboration with Castle Lite’s 'Lite’n Up – It’s Just Jokes' campaign and brings together a line-up of seasoned performers and rising comedic talent for a midweek experience that defies the ordinary.

The show offers an affordable escape for Windhoek locals in need of a break, whether from work, life or love. With a showtime of 18:30, audiences are invited to arrive early to soak in the venue’s signature atmosphere and drink specials.

Comedy meets magic

Hosting the evening is Paulo, the suave MC known for his razor-sharp delivery and irreverent charm. Joining him on stage is Big Mitch, Namibia’s multi-award-winning comic whose booming presence and social commentary have earned him a loyal following. The night will also feature the witty and unpredictable Wilbard, the Katutura-born storyteller Dangote, and, to top it off, a live performance by magician and illusionist Tangeni Botchman, whose act promises to blur the line between reality and the impossible.

Let it all go

Billed as a night “strictly for the bold and the brave”, ‘It Is What It Is’ seeks to offer more than just laughs; it’s about creating a space where people can let go, lean into the moment, and laugh out loud. With Nico’s trademark hospitality and Castle Lite’s support, the show is expected to draw a vibrant, fun-loving crowd.

Doors open at 18:00, and the event is strictly for those aged 18 and over. Organisers urge fans not to wait – tickets are already selling fast. They are available for N$100 via Webtickets and N$150 at the door.
