UPDATE: Following last week’s fallout at Childline/Lifeline Namibia’s 45th anniversary celebration, rapper Jericho has broken his silence in a lengthy social media post.
The artist was removed from the event’s lineup after MC NSK reportedly refused to share the stage with him. In response, Jericho acknowledged NSK’s character but expressed concern: “You are a good person but your bad is overshadowing your good... let there be peace.”
Turning his attention to the organisers, Jericho criticised their handling of the matter, calling for accountability: “Childline, I am sorry that you found yourself in this situation but your decision making was very poor... you approached me while I was minding my life, asked me for a favour (free performance)... it saddens me to think that you didn’t even ask me for a proper forgiveness.”
He stressed that his performance was going to be without charge, highlighting the disappointment in how he was treated: “Take accountability... it’s your letter from your office.”
Jericho closed his statement by reaffirming his journey of change: “I want peace. I want to be remembered for the right reasons.”
