Azendella makes bold debut with ‘Tell Me’
Azendella makes bold debut with ‘Tell Me’
With her sultry vocals and genre-bending sound, Azendella is not just introducing herself, she's announcing her arrival.
The Namibian newcomer made an impressive first impression this month with the release of ‘Tell Me’, a sleek, emotion-laced collaboration with Kachazi, lifted from her forthcoming debut EP simply titled ‘Azendella'.
In an exclusive conversation with tjil, the young artist expressed deep gratitude for the warm reception to her debut.
“The feedback has been so positive,” she said. “I’m thankful to everyone who has taken the time to listen, leave a comment and share. I’m especially grateful to Kachazi for bringing his magic to the track.”
The single, produced, mixed and mastered by 4Beats, unfolds as a mellow yet infectious Afrobeats groove, layered with silky R&B undertones. It’s a blend Azendella says defines her sonic identity: “Modern, sexy and soulful”.
Recorded at Baby Boy Records, the track marks the only collaboration on the upcoming project.
“The EP is my formal introduction,” she explained. “So I wanted people to know more about my story. That’s why I chose not to have too many features, just me and the music.”
Personal stories
Though no official release date has been confirmed, ‘Azendella', the EP, is almost complete, spanning seven original tracks all penned by the singer herself.
‘Tell Me’ appears as the second track on the project, a placement that speaks volumes about the emotional tone Azendella wants to set early on. The songs, she noted, are drawn from real-life experiences, fragments of heartbreak, healing and personal rebirth.
Behind the polished sound is producer 4Beats, who handled the entire production as well as the final mastering. The cohesive sonic palette speaks to a clear artistic vision, even for a newcomer. For Azendella, the process has been as personal as it is creative.
While ‘Tell Me’ is the only track to feature another artist, the rollout for the project is just beginning. Azendella confirmed that more visuals are on the way, hinting at a full-fledged campaign to support her introduction to the music scene.
In an industry that often rewards hype over substance, Azendella is quietly carving out a lane of her own, anchored in vulnerability, powered by style, and driven by undeniable talent.
