90° Night Club to launch ‘Rhythm Revolution’; First installment features Tswazis

A new wave of live entertainment is set to sweep through Otjiwarongo as 90° Night Club prepares to launch ‘Rhythm Revolution\', a brand of events promising to transform the town’s nightlife with full-band performances by some of Namibia’s top artists.

The brainchild of club owner Oiva Hamunjela, Rhythm Revolution is envisioned as a much-needed addition to Otjiwarongo’s slowly expanding cultural scene. “We do have artists come to our town billed to perform, but most of the time they just do so without a live band,” Hamunjela said in an interview. “Rhythm Revolution is here to change that.”

For Hamunjela, the new series is about raising the bar for entertainment in the region. He believes Otjiwarongo is ready for a different kind of offering, one that mirrors the standards of Namibia’s larger cities. “Rhythm Revolution is the type of entertainment the town of Otjiwarongo needs right now,” he said, pointing to the appetite among residents for quality performances that go beyond the standard DJ-and-microphone formula.

The inaugural edition, scheduled for Saturday, 4 October, will see the award-winning duo Tswazis headline the night. Known for their infectious energy and dance-ready hits, the group will be backed by a live band — a rarity in the town’s nightlife calendar. “Preparations are going well for this first instalment,” Hamunjela noted.

Promotional material for the launch promises an evening of “electrifying vocals” and a chance to experience Otjiwarongo’s “first live performances” of this calibre. The announcement has already stirred excitement online, with residents eager to see whether Rhythm Revolution can deliver on its bold promise.

If successful, Hamunjela hopes the series will not only cement 90° Night Club as a cultural hotspot, but also signal a new era for live music in Otjiwarongo.
