The Kavango Youth Music Festival, scheduled to take place from 25 July to 3 August at Rundu Beach, will span ten days and aims to spotlight emerging local talent while promoting youth empowerment through music, culture and entrepreneurship.

At the helm of the initiative is Mario De-Luke, a rising youth leader and creative entrepreneur, who describes his involvement with the project as a calling.

“This isn’t just about entertainment,” De-Luke said. “It’s about purpose. It’s about faith. This is God’s way of saying: ‘The youth’s time is now.’”

A power-packed line-up

The line-up for the first instalment of the Kavango Youth Music Festival features top-performing artists in the Kavango regions, including M-Gee, Bankxido, Kachazi, Bones Yamukongo, Chicano Family, P-Star, Escoh, Sean, Chalo, Zhondie, Tashen and more.

In addition to the music, attendees can expect a curated experience of local food vendors, fashion pop-ups, art showcases and cultural exhibitions, adding texture to the celebration of youth talent and identity.

A movement, not just a moment

Under the theme 'Empowering the Future, One Stage at a Time', the Kavango Youth Music Festival is set to be more than an event. Organisers hope it will become an annual platform for youth development, mentorship and enterprise in Namibia’s north. “Our youth are gifted, they just need a stage,” said De-Luke. “And this is that stage. We’re building something that will bless generations.”

Organisers are urging national sponsors, local businesses and community leaders to support what they describe as a God-inspired initiative, one that aims to invest in the creative, spiritual and economic potential of Namibia’s next generation. Entrance is N$30.
