‘Revival Now’ breathes new life into Namibian gospel
Gospel artist leads powerful spiritual music movement
Pride Panashe's second live album 'Revival Now' ignites faith and unity and ushers in a new era for local gospel music through heartfelt collaborations and high-quality production.
In a country where gospel music continues to carve a deep cultural and spiritual imprint, Namibian gospel artist Pride Panashe has returned with ‘Revival Now’, a bold and soul-stirring live album that both honours his roots and reaches across borders with its message of urgent spiritual awakening.
The album, his second since debuting in 2018, is already drawing remarkable feedback from fans and fellow gospel musicians alike.
“The response has been incredibly humbling,” Panashe told tjil. “Supporters are reaching out with testimonies of how the songs are touching their hearts and drawing them closer to God.”
But ‘Revival Now’ is more than a musical release – it’s a declaration.
“I truly believe the title carries a deep sense of urgency,” Panashe said. “It’s more than just an album name – it’s a prophetic statement. This isn’t about something that’s coming. Revival is happening now.”
That sentiment pulses through each track of the album, recorded live at NG Kerk in Hochland Park and produced by Wayne Mhlanga, with vocal arrangements handled by Lisa Mhlanga.
Collective spirit
From start to finish, ‘Revival Now’ is a testimony to collective purpose. “I had the incredible privilege of working with artists like Maranatha, Zassha, Manda Gabriel, Benjamin, Uvatera and Ndenda. Each voice added something powerful to the sound and the spirit of this project,” said Panashe.
Behind the scenes, the production was orchestrated with equal passion.
The HotPocket Band brought the live instrumentation to life, while all studio work and visuals were managed by Majume Gondwe of Seventeen Media. Mixing and mastering was finalised by Showgear Namibia. Notably, Panashe credits his wife, Mekuupi Mafukidze, as the album’s production manager – a testament to the deep personal investment in the project.
Though rooted in faith, ‘Revival Now’ seeks to transcend traditional audiences.
“This wasn’t just made for Namibia or even just for believers. It’s for anyone who is open to encountering God in a fresh and real way,” Panashe explained. “My prayer is that this sound carries that invitation globally.”
The rollout of the album has been matched with an ambitious visual campaign. With three music videos already released and seven more in the pipeline, Panashe aims to redefine the standard for local gospel music production. “This is a step forward for our industry. I hope this inspires the kind of investment and support our young, anointed artists truly deserve.”
‘Revival Now’ is available for streaming across all major platforms.
