Tisha declares her time is ‘Right Now’

After five years in Namibia’s underground music scene, 22-year-old singer-songwriter Tisha is ready to turn her dreams into reality with a sound she calls 'amaguitar'.

The Namibian singer-songwriter, guitarist and performer Litisha Coetzee, professionally known as Tisha, is ready to step out of the underground and into the spotlight.

For the past five years, the independent artist has been quietly building her craft, developing her sound and establishing herself as more than “just a girl with an Afro and a guitar”.

Her latest single, 'Right Now', is a reflection of that confidence and a declaration that she is no longer waiting for the perfect moment to pursue her dreams.

For Tisha, music has always been part of her life. She says she could sing before she could talk, and her passion has since grown into a career as a songwriter, guitarist and performer.

'Right Now' was recorded with Namibian producers Solani Glo and 7ound, combining amapiano with a live-band feel and placing Tisha’s guitar at the centre of the production.

The result is what she describes as her own genre, 'amaguitar', a sound that aims to bridge the past with a fresh, contemporary present.

Her time is now

The song’s message is deeply personal. After years of trying to be the best, Tisha says she realised that her greatest competition is herself. “I can only be better than I was,” she says.

That realisation became the heart of 'Right Now', encouraging listeners to stop postponing their dreams and take action in the present. The song’s music video, shot by PenTv at Tisha’s family farm, carries the same message of identity and authenticity.

Inspired by an old-school-meets-what’s-popping-on-the-streets concept, the video contrasts contemporary youth culture with the natural beauty of Namibia’s mountains and bush. For Tisha, filming at her family farm was especially meaningful. “I value my roots from the soil and wanted to share my culture visually,” she says.

The project also brought together local creative talent, with Strauss Media contributing to the visual side of the release, including her cover art and visuals. While 'Right Now' marks an important chapter, Tisha says she is already looking ahead. The artist is dedicated to releasing a full-length album this year, with ambitions of representing Namibia through a sound that is unmistakably her own.

After five years of working from the underground, Tisha believes the time has come to make her presence felt. Her message is simple: dreams should not be left waiting for the perfect opportunity.
