Time is running out for agri nominations
The clock is ticking to submit nominations to the five award categories, with the Namibia Agricultural Union (NAU) annual congress date in October approaching fast.
The Livestock Producers’ Organization (LPO) has issued a reminder to farmers' associations and regional agricultural unions to identify members who can be nominated as winners of the Large Stock Producer of the Year for 2022 award.
Contact Rina Hough of the NAU office at 061 237838 or [email protected] for a nomination form and further information. A judging team will visit nominated producers during July to September and the winner will be announced during the popular LPO steak braai in Windhoek on the evening of 4 October 2022.
The NAU also invites nominations for the following award categories:
- Agricultural Woman of the Year: This award recognises a special woman who leaves her mark in agricultural circles. A woman who makes an innovative contribution for the benefit of the agricultural community and who provides education and training to help families improve their living conditions.
- Community Project of the Year: This project should benefit the community and thereby put a farmers' association or regional agricultural union in the spotlight. It should also contribute to poverty alleviation and improve living conditions.
- AgriStar Award: This award is given to a person who has made a significant impact on the development of the agricultural sector.
- Media Personality of the Year: Reporting will be assessed based on criteria such as continuity, objectivity, investigative skills, correctness, prominence of media platform and timeliness.
Nominations close on 30 July.
