Historic unity marks Agri Outlook Conference 2025
For the first time in Namibia’s history, all four major farmers’ unions shared the stage with the agriculture ministry and the Office of the President at the Agri Outlook Conference 2025 — a moment hailed as a powerful show of unity and shared purpose within the nation’s agricultural sector.
The event brought together the Namibia Emerging Commercial Farmers Union (NECFU), Namibia National Farmers Union (NNFU), Namibia Agricultural Union (NAU), and Previously Disadvantaged Namibian Farmers Union (PDNFU).
“Today is historic. It’s the first time ever in the history of Namibia that all four unions and the government — at the highest level — are sharing the same stage. Your Excellency, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, let this be the engine room that drives agriculture into the future,” said NAU president Thinus Pretorius.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah echoed the spirit of unity, remarking: “As I look across this hall, this is one of those moments I want to find myself in at all times. I can truly say I’m in Namibia. I can see Namibia in one room — and this is what I want to see in our words, in our deeds, and in our actions.”
NNFU president Adolf Mureni reflected on the power of collaboration: “Namibia’s agricultural strength truly lies in unity and shared purpose.”
Pretorius added: “To see all farmers represented here, to see Namibia represented here — this is the pride of agriculture in one room today.”
