UNDP praises Namibia's ruling on sodomy law

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has praised a ruling by the Namibian High Court declaring the sodomy law unconstitutional and invalid.

"This ruling sends a message that all Namibian citizens, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, have fundamental rights and equality under the law," reads a statement by the UNDP.

The UNDP also urged the Namibian government to continue ensuring that everyone can live free from discrimination and violence.
