NGF names 74 gymnasts for Region 5 Champs

Namibian Gymnastics Federation has named a 74-player roster to represent the country at the Region 5 Gymnastics Championships, to be hosted in Windhoek from 7 to 14 December.Expected to attract over 200 top gymnasts from seven countries, Namibia will compete alongside South Africa, Zimbabwe, Angola, Botswana, Zambia, Lesotho and Mozambique.The event will feature the sport’s core disciplines: Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG), Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), Trampoline and Tumbling (T&T), and Rhythmic Gymnastics. For the first time in the event’s history, organisers will introduce Parkour and Gymnastics for All (GfA).International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) defines Parkour as a timed or freestyle obstacle-course discipline where athletes use acrobatic and efficient movement to get from point A to point B. Meanwhile, GfA is a participation-based form of gymnastics where groups perform routines for fun, fitness and teamwork rather than medals.
