Atlantis Archery Club recently hosted its second competition of the year in honour of the late Katelynn Venter, a talented and popular Paralympic archer who passed away last year.

Hosted at the Katelynn Venter Shooting Range, the memorial tournament was a two-day competition that featured Outdoor Double 720 and eliminations on day one, followed by Indoor Double 300 and eliminations on day two.

In a report issued by the Archery Association of Namibia (AAN), vice president Jacqueline Coetzee said all entry fees were donated to the Lions Club Walvis Bay to contribute to Venter’s cause of Wheels for Arrows.

“Although the group of archers was small, family and friends enjoyed two days of excellent archery. Two new para-archers from the Run Along Foundation and Challenged Athletes Namibia (CAN) were also on the shooting line for the very first time. Both Saimi and Alvin impressed in their first competition appearances,” she said.
