Teen dies in Uis crash

A 15-year-old girl died and two boys were seriously injured following a car accident on Saturday afternoon near Farm Leewater in the Uis district.
According to Erongo police spokesperson Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula, the incident occurred at about 15:30 when the driver of a white Toyota Land Cruiser allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to reckless and negligent driving. The vehicle overturned and rolled once, throwing the passengers from the vehicle.
Johnistar Kasupi was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. Her next of kin have been informed.
Two other passengers, boys aged 13 and 14, sustained serious injuries and were transported to Omaruru State Hospital for treatment.
The police have registered a case of reckless and negligent driving and culpable homicide. Investigations are ongoing.
