SHORT NEWS: Police hunt for fraudster who impersonates an officer

The Namibian police are searching for a fraudster who impersonated a police officer and stole N$148 509 from Haufiku Beata (65) of Efululula village in Kavango East. The suspect allegedly phoned the victim on Saturday, posed as “Insp. Amakali,” and tricked her into sharing one-time pin (OTP) codes, allowing access to her FNB account. No funds have been recovered, and the case has been transferred to Rundu.
