Healthy cattle, healthy herds
The directorate of veterinary services’ livestock vaccination campaign got underway yesterday in Kavango West, with teams operating in Musese constituency as part of a scheduled crush-pen rollout.
Chief animal health technician Flavian Siambango said the annual campaign, which started last week and runs until the end of October, targets cattle vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) and contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP).
He said the exercise is fully funded by government, with farmers only required to bring their cattle to designated crush pens, and urged farmers to participate.
