Dangerous booze on the road

The Otavi Town Council has warned members of the public against consuming, selling or distributing vodka cans recovered from the scene of a truck accident.

The vodka was reportedly not intended for the local market and contains a high concentration of alcohol, council warned. The condition and safety of the products cannot be guaranteed, as they may have been exposed to heat, fire, smoke and other contaminants following the accident.

The council has urged anyone in possession of the recovered products to report them to the relevant authorities for assessment and action, while warning parents and guardians about the potential dangers to children and young people.
