China reaffirms support for Namibia's industrialisation

Chinese ambassador to Namibia, Zhao Weiping, has reaffirmed China’s support for Namibia’s drive toward industrialisation, modernisation and value addition, describing these goals as vital to the country’s long-term economic growth. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Zhao said the Chinese government encourages its companies operating in Namibia to prioritise local beneficiation and value-added production. “We fully support that,” Zhao said, adding that more Chinese enterprises are expected to align with these national objectives in the coming years.
