The NFA Debmarine Cup will provide thrills and spills in April as clubs are vying for success.
Young Beauties (YB) Football Club (FC) from Keetmanshoop has warned Rhino FC to not expect a walk in the park when they clash in Round 32 of the Debmarine Namibia Cup.
The Tseiblaagte outfit is hard at work preparing for the match that is slated for 22 April at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
YB Team Manager, Bino Cloete told Nampa on Wednesday his team is in good shape and ready to dismantle whoever comes their way.
“We are preparing ourselves to go all the way and we will be playing Try Again FC on Saturday for a friendly match. On Sunday, we will play with Dates Eleven FC as we don't know what type of soccer Rhino FC is playing.”
He said they are working on all aspects to prepare the players physically and mentally.
Cloete said his team is also working on discipline to avoid unnecessary bookings and noted that apart from the Debmarine Cup, their aim this season is to win the
//Karas Second Division and go back to the Southern Stream First Division (SSFD).
“All this, we will only achieve through hard work and dedication. Lastly we want to applaud our sponsors, players, supporters and management for the input they are giving.”
YB booked their place in the Round of 32 of the Debmarine Namibia Cup after winning the //Karas Second Division elimination matches, while Rhino won the Kavango West Second Division elimination matches.
In a statement, Namibia Premier League (NPL) Administrator Joshua Tovey //Hoëbeb said the interim management committee of the league will have a meeting with the NFA president, Frans Mbidi, to request for a postponement of the envisaged Round 32 matches to the end of June or early July. They will also ask for an extension to the registration of players to be in line with the proposed league kick-off date and also to submit the draft NPL Constitution. //Hoëbeb said the interim committee, in its last meeting held on 18 March, resolved that the league will start on 12 May and run until the end of November 2017.
