Verseker inklusiwiteit op alle vlakke

Onder die tema “Learning for, planet, prosperity, and peace”, het die ministerie van onderwys, kuns en kultuur, in samewerking met Unesco en Concordia College, die dag gevier.

Die dag fokus veral op die rol van onderwys in die welstand en volhoubare ontwikkeling van mense. Vanjaar was die eerste keer wat die dag in Namibië gevier is, met spesifieke fokus op hoe onderwys en leer van die belangrikste hernubare hulpbronne is en is ’n fundamentele reg wat ’n deurslaggewende rol speel in die bereiking van die 2030-agenda vir volhoubare ontwikkeling.

Volgens me. Marry Uanguta, die skoolhoof van Concordia, spreek die tema tot omvattende, inklusiewe en billike gehalte-onderwys vir almal. Sy is ook van mening dat lande hierdeur daarin sal slaag om geslagsgelykheid te bewerkstellig en die siklus van armoede te verbreek wat miljoene kinders, jongmense en volwassenes agterlaat.

“As ’n skool ondersteun ons alle inisiatiewe en projekte wat deur Unesco gedryf word in hul poging om gelyke- en inklusiewe kwaliteit onderrig moontlik te maak vir almal in Namibië en die res van die wêreld,” het Uanguta bygevoeg.

Tydens die seremonie het die waarnemende minister van onderwys, kuns en kultuur, mnr. Martin Andjaba gesê Namibië het in reaksie op die VN se dekade vir volhoubare ontwikkeling, sy volhoubare doelwitte (SDG’s) en Kontinentale Onderwysstrategie vir Afrika (CESA 16-25) dwarsoor die skoolkurrikulum geïmplementeer.

“Dit is gemik op die doel om kwaliteit onderrig te voorsien, deur ‘n gedeelde begrip en ‘n multi-dissiplinêre benadering te volg om die volhoubare ontwikkelings- en omgewingsdoelwitte vir die toekoms te bereik,” het hy gesê.

Hy het verder bygevoeg dat die onderwysafdeling die SDG Doelwit 4-implementeringsplan op 23 Maart tydens die SADC-Onderwys-bestuurinligtingstelsel-konferensie (EMIS) in Windhoek van stapel sal stuur.

“Dié plan bevat die onderwysafdeling se nasionale benadering vir die implementering van die SDG Doelwit 4-plan, wat al sewe doelwitte en die twaalf CESA-teikens in ag neem.”

Andjaba het ‘n beroep op die land gedoen om hul energie en hulpbronne aan die onderwyspraktyk te wy.

Hy het onderwysers ook versoek om die leerlinge in hul sorg na die beste van hulle vermoë op te voed.

Djaffar Moussa-Elkadhum, ‘n Unesco-verteenwoordiger, het gesê dié dag is getuig vsan Unesco se vermoë om studentemobiliteit te bevorder deur die eerste konvensie oor die erkenning van hoër-onderwys-kwalifikasies.
