Three codes receive national colours
Namibian athletes, swimmers and a karateka have received their national colours ahead of their participation at various international sporting events taking place around the world.
Two veteran marathon runners Beata Naigambo and Rainhold Tomas will compete in the World Half Marathon Championships in Valencia, Spain on 24 March.
The event will feature runners from across the world and Naigambo said they have prepared extensively for the competition.
The swimmers will compete at the Confederation of African Championships in Malawi from 21 to 24 March, while one karateka, Freddy Mwiya Junior, will compete at the US Open Championships from 26 March to 4 April. Mwiya said he has been hard at work and will make sure that he puts Namibia on the world map. The swimmers who received their national colours are Margaret Murphy, Nico Esslinger, Ariana Naukosho, Ju-Ane Oberholzer, Christiaan Mathias, William Betts, Corne Le Roux, Zune Weber, Trisha Mutumbulua and Jureck Johanneson.
