Stock brand fees increase

The Meat Board of Namibia has issued a notice reminding producers that stock fees increase annually on 1 January as per Government Notice No. 145 of 2015. The Meat Board, as the mandated administrator of the stock brands, said the fees are payable to the registrar for the registration of a brand or the transfer of a brand.
The fee for registering a brand has increased from N$142 to N$147, while transferring a brand will now cost you N$53, up from N$51. The fee for a duplicate certificate brand has also increased from N$90 to N$93.
According to the Meat Board, the annual increase is based on the average inflation rate, which is 3% as per the Bank of Namibia consumer price index.
All state veterinary offices, Meat Board offices, agricultural farmers unions and associations and livestock agents are requested to implement the new fee structure.
