Song Night is back
With a new ambassador on board, Song Night promises to fulfil its mandates this year and beyond.
Consistently exceeding expectations of nurturing the Namibian sound, Song Night, now sponsored by RMB, pledges to focus even more on mentoring musicmakers and bringing explosive vocalists to the stage.
“More Namibian songs are being recognised internationally because singers are realising the importance of showcasing the quality that Namibia is able to produce.
“We need to be heard at international festivals across the globe! We have to help each other represent Namibia more internationally, because locally is not enough” said Lize Ehlers, the founder and director.
With entertainment changing gear in a very visible and audible way, Song Night is excited about the 2020 residency at the former Warehouse Theatre, now under new management as The Brewer's Market.
“We salute the space and we welcome our new brand ambassador Zikizee Hangero, also known as Zikii. She is already flying the Song Night flag high with her debut album Spread The Love, which is charting on various local radio stations,” Ehlers said.
Song Night also welcomes Energy 100 FM on board as a media partner and applauds its longstanding partners.
The first auditions will be held on 4 March from 18:00 to 20:00 at The Brewer's Market, with a preference for proudly Namibian songs. Auditions are free and acapella, but acoustic guitars are allowed.
