The new year has started off well for Brave Warriors captain Petrus Shitembi as he signed a one-year contract with Malaysian professional outfit Terengganu Football Club last week.
The Namibian international told Namibian Sun that he is settling in well in Malaysia and will use the opportunity to better himself as a footballer.
“Training has been great; we are in the pre-season phase now so it’s work and more work. This, however, is good, as it allows us to properly prepare for the season ahead.”
Warm welcome
“My teammates have been absolutely amazing and very welcoming. They helped me settle in with ease and I’m grateful for that, obviously not to forget the technical team and management as well. They all really have played a massive part in making me feel comfortable and welcomed,” he said.
Shitembi, affectionally known as ‘Dancing Shoes’, said it has been raining a lot and that he is trying to adjust to the weather. “But overall, just can’t wait to kick-start the season. I’m pretty excited,” he added.
Shitembi makes his move from Sabah Football Association, a team in the same division.
