Shalulile's N$30m price tag

Namibia's talisman Peter Shalulile's excellent form has earned him a N$30 million price tag.
The Namibian, who leads the 2019/20 nomination for KickOff magazine's footballer of the season, is a wanted man.
However, co-chairman of Highlands Park Brax Keftal, through PowerSport, announced that no South African team can afford the player.
This after Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly been eyeing the hardworking striker's services.
'We won't sell'
“Peter is our player. He is on a great package. We have secured him until 2025. We have no interest in letting him go to any other team, unless it is a European team that is prepared to pay us in Euros,” Keftal said.
He further added that the Namibian excels at scoring goals. “He has an incredible work rate that adds to the team.
“Generally, strikers today don't give you that work rate. Shalulile gives you serious kilometres in matches,” Keftal said.
“We just don't want to sell Peter. He is like our adopted son. What message will it send to our team if we sold our top players?” he added.
One of a kind
He added that Shalulile brings a different dimension to the team.
“You do not find a striker of his kind any more. If you have a player like Peter and you sell him, that could weaken your team. Your top player has to be valued higher. It's economics,” Keftal explained.
The Namibian was having a stellar season, scoring 15 goals in all competitions, before the season was halted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Local fans across Namibia, including outspoken football pundit Olsen Kahiriri, believe Shalulile should take either offer.
“N$30 million is the right price tag. The boy is doing well and deserves to be among the top Africans,” he said on Facebook.
Moses Matheus and Cri Isaak were specific about the clubs Shalulile should join. Mateus said he thinks the footballer should go to Chiefs, while Isaak believes he'll flourish at Sundowns.
“Chiefs does not hold strikers for long,” he added.
Erastus Martyn said Highland Parks is blocking Shalulile's opportunities for growth.
Another fan, Jay Sadrag, said he believes the football star should stay on at Highlands a bit longer.
