The Indongo Toyota Super Saturday Clash in partnership with Gravity, left rugby fans excited to have the schools battling it out on the field again.
Eight schools in Namibia took part in the Super Saturday Clash. A total of 22 friendly matches were played at the Windhoek Technical High School (HTS) fields over the course of two days.
One of the highlights of the weekend was having the under-19 girls from HTS and Windhoek High School (WHS) joining in on the rugby fun.
The HTS under-19 girls’ team was the winning team on Friday, leading with 27-5 points against WHS. The Saturday game saw the WHS girls leading with 34-0 points.
“Seeing how the under-19 girls are playing and seeing how rugby has just developed and evolved, is the best feeling ever,” says Charlton Binga, an under-15 WHS rugby player.
“The Indongo Toyota Rugby programme was very successful; we won two games out of the three we played. I’m very proud of my boys,” said coach Jaden Jeffrey from Suiderhof about the games played on Saturday.
Delta Secondary School, which formed part of the Indongo Toyota Invitational Team, was one of the teams that are not commonly seen in the rugby scene but saw the under-19 boys walk home with one victory against Jan Möhr out of the three games they played.
